 John Geddes - Chairman / CEO

  

John Geddes established SCF Partners Inc. in Canada in 1998 to identify investment opportunities in this rapidly expanding oilfield services market. SCF has developed and built several industry leading service companies including Computalog, PTI, Enserco, IPS, Trace, Transco, Flint and EnerMax. SCF works closely with management partners to identify, build and create growth and value through internal initiatives and acquisition opportunities. John serves on the Boards, and in several cases is the Chairman of the companies.

 

John started his career in various engineering capacities with Imperial Oil Ltd. and then management positions with Reda Pump Ltd. John was first introduced to SCF in 1989 when he was a senior executive at one of SCF's first investments from the original Fund I - Wheatley Corporation. He experienced SCF's value creation influences first-hand as an owner, including the acquisition of five companies, an IPO on the NYSE, and the eventual sale to Dresser Industries Inc. in 1994. At Dresser, John was Group President of several oilfield companies with operations worldwide.

 

John is responsible for providing Site Energy Services with strategic direction, corporate governance, stakeholder relations, and leadership in executing the company’s various mandates.

 

Lyle Reid - VP Operations

 

Lyle Reid has held various positions in his career starting out in the field in Project Management before moving up to General Manager and President of Reid’s Construction Group. Lyle took his company and expertise in joining the early stages of Flint Energy Services Ltd. and played an influential part in Flint’s growth as Senior VP and Director. Lyle was part of a team that expanded Flint from $250 million to over a billion in revenue from 1999 to 2007.

 

Since 1995, Lyle has played a pivotal role with Tri-City Contracting as a Director and Vice President of Construction Management where he built a best in class civil and mechanical construction services company. Lyle has also been active with several private and public companies in operational roles and as a Director. Lyle has provided management direction to operating management teams and has developed platforms and business plans for start-up companies. He also offers guidance to management groups so they can set and achieve operational goals to improve their products and services.

 

Lyle is responsible for overall operations of Site Energy Services and working directly with division General Managers to execute work safely, on time, and on budget.

 

Erick Hamdan - VP Finance 

 

Erick Hamdan started his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP in 1994 where he managed a diverse client base in construction, energy, and industrial services.  In 1999, he left public practice to become SVP Finance of Westcorp Inc., a real estate developer and holding company backed by private capital.

 

In 2005, Erick commenced  working with SCF Partners and its portfolio companies on various projects for Flint Energy Services Ltd., several acquisitions by Transco (SCF’s heavy haul and rig moving portfolio company), and the eventual sale of Transco to Flint . From 2005 to 2009, Erick was the VP Finance/CFO and investor in EnerMAX Services LLP, an SCF backed company focused on the storage, transportation, and disposal of completion & production fluids . Over 4 years, EnerMAX completed 22 acquisitions and established 26 locations in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and North Dakota reaching revenue of $250 million.

 

Erick is responsible for financial management, stakeholder relations, procurement, treasury, business development, information technology, and corporate governance at Site Energy Services.

 

Kade Demuth - Northeast Region General Manager 

 

Kade is responsible for Site’s largest Region and is responsible for the coordination of labour and equipment, oversight of projects, oversight of all company safety polices and procedures, and liaison with employees, the project owner, and the project engineer.

 

Kade has successfully owned, managed and operated three of his own companies over the past 16 years. During this time, he has been an active participant in the daily operations, working mainly in a supervisory capacity to preserve the satisfaction of his valued clients.  In 1995, Kade owned Tri Central Hydro Trenching in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and in 1997 he founded K-Tek Construction, which subsequently became Timberline Industries Inc.  Kade remains hands-on in most major construction projects including resource deployment and shift organization. Many of these contracts required earth moving for the preparation of the sites, and again for the reclamation of the land after the completion of the projects. Kade is also acting as the superintendent for the pipeline construction. His main role is managing the pipeline spreads which are operating all over Alberta and Saskatchewan.  As the Northeast Region Manager, Kade is responsible for operations in the Alberta and Saskatchewan heavy oil SAGD and mining areas. 

 

Danny Dion - Bear Slashing President and  Slashing and Mulching General Manager

 

Danny founded Bear Slashing Ltd. in 1988, and has successfully grown the company to be a market leader in its industry. He pioneered mulchers as “the way of the future” with the philosophy of environmental stewardship, which meant saving trees where possible, logging the salvageable trees and eliminating the need for expensive reclamation efforts. Danny’s commitment to industry development and safety means embracing new standards and equipment technology as it is released. This commitment has permitted Bear Slashing to emerge as the leader of mulching, line clearing, site clearing and logging services as Danny continues to drive the company forward with machinery that is effective, economical and safe.  His responsibilities include operations management and client relations in operations management. 

 

Greg Cousins - South Region General Manager

  

Greg Cousins successfully owned and managed his company, Greg Cousins Construction Ltd. for thirty years, offering all types of pipeline construction and excavation services, lease building and reclamation services as well as a full line of generator rentals. Greg believes in getting the most of out his equipment and adheres to a rigorous maintenance schedule to ensure that employees and customers can count on reliable equipment. Over the years, the business has built up a very capable team of key personnel whose dedication has greatly contributed to the loyalty of customers and to the success of the company. As the South Region Manager, Greg is responsible for operations in the Canadian Bakken based in Southeast Saskatchewan and Southwest Manitoba.

 

Jerry McCaffrey - Site Equipment General Manager

 

Jerry McCaffrey is the past president and founder of the Tri-City group of companies based in Cold Lake Alberta. Under his direction, Tri-City grew steadily and has expanded from the production and sale of aggregate products to include the construction of water and sewer utilities, heavy civil construction, and above and below ground pipelines. Jerry takes great pride in the work that is completed by Tri-City Contracting and is a firm believer in the adage that you are only as good as your employees.

 

Jerry is responsible for the overall management of Site Equipment, which manages Site’s entire equipment fleet encompassing equipment purchases and sale, maintenance, and company wide utilization.

 

Ken Davies - CRSP - HSE Manager

 

Ken Davies is a 20 year HSE professional who has worked locally and overseas. Ken is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), a designated Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), and holds diplomas in Environmental Science Technology and Alberta Environmental Source Monitoring. Ken has worked with a variety of organizations worldwide successfully fulfilling the roles of both client and prime contractor representative. He has also managed large teams of safety professionals for direct craft constructors in a union and non-union environment. His experiences in the Middle East have taught him the ability to find common ground on diverse subjects to implement the tools that will affect change within the workplace.

 

Roger Didychuk – I.W. Kuhn General Manager

 

Roger is the General Manager of I.W. Kuhn. He has a Business administration Diploma from Medicine Hat, Civil Engineering Technologist (Certified Engineer Technologist) from Lethbridge, has been an active manager in I.W. Kuhn since 1990 and became a partner in 1996. Involved in numerous stakeholder workshops and committees he has been able to stay current on B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan’s regulations as it pertains to the Oil and Gas Field.  Roger has been involved in numerous contaminated soil excavations and clean-ups as well as site reclamation projects. I.W. Kuhn is a full service environmental and construction company, with completed projects throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba, with offices in Acadia Valley, Lethbridge and Swift Current. 

 

Owen Helgesen – President – HCL National Ltd. 

 

HCL National has been in business since 1989 and seismic line clearing has been the back bone of the business operations.  HCL was among the first to introduce seismic related companies to mulching equipment to help reduce the environmental footprint in our forests.  Over the years, HCL has developed a strong safety minded team of dedicated and loyal key personnel.  Through the dedication of Owen and his team, HCL continues to maintain a strong client base and successful operations. 

 

 

Gerry Richard – Richard Drilling Ltd

 

For over 25 years Gerry Richard has been designing & building the drills for his seismic drilling operation. The focus of the business is to use innovation and design to save money and minimize downtime for our clients. Gerry comes from a farming background and understands the importance of respecting the land. As much as possible the equipment has been designed to have a low impact on the environment.
